ICEPLATE® Gen 3 is a high-performance hard-cell hydration bladder shaped like a Medium ESAPI armor plate (9.5” × 12.5” × 1”). Engineered for cooling, heating, and hydration, it holds 52.4 fl oz (1.5 L) of drinkable water delivering precision thermoregulation and hydration for any mission or environment.

What is the capacity of ICEPLATE® Gen 3?

ICEPLATE® Gen 3 holds 54 fluid ounces (about 1.6 liters). For cooling function, ICEPLATE® Gen 3 should be filled to the fill line (50 fluid ounces or 1.5 liters) to allow for expansion as water freezes into ice. It offers 70 watts of cooling power and can be filled with hot water to provide 52 watts of heating power, enhancing survivability and comfort in various climates.

What's the best way to clean my ICEPLATE® Gen 3?

Maintaining your ICEPLATE® is straightforward due to its dishwasher-safe design. Simply remove the cap (which fits perfectly in the utensil basket) and place ICEPLATE® upside down in the bottom rack of your dishwasher. Run it through a standard wash and dry cycle.

Alternatively, you can wash it by hand. Just soak it in warm, soapy water and gently scrub the surface with a soft sponge. Make sure to rinse the bite valve thoroughly before use.

Can I incorporate ICEPLATE® Gen 3 into my backpack setup?

Definitely! ICEPLATE® Gen 3 can seamlessly integrate into a variety of backpacks, both as an internal and external component. ICEPLATE® Gen 3 features five mounting eyelets best used with paracord to mount to external frames against the wearer's back. ICEPLATE® Gen 3 can also be mounted to MOLLE equipped bags with a CATAMARAN Gen 3 - IMS Pro Gen 3 combo. You will appreciate the reduction in bulk and the elimination of the typical "water bottle bulge."

How should I clean the Source 90 Drink Tube?

The Source 90 drink tube of your ICEPLATE® is also designed to be dishwasher safe, allowing for easy cleaning alongside your ICEPLATE®. If you prefer, it can be hand washed using the same method described for ICEPLATE®.

If you notice condensation build-up (especially before storing the tube long-term) consider using the Platypus Tube Brush for thorough cleaning.

Can I fill my ICEPLATE® Gen 3 with beverages other than water?

While it's possible to use other liquids, we recommend sticking with water for optimal performance and ease of cleaning.

Do you have any tips for drying your ICEPLATE® Gen 3?

To completely dry your ICEPLATE®, hang it via the top eyelet furthest from the bottom drain port and allow to air dry. The TotalDrain design of ICEPLATE® Gen 3 will ensure all liquid drains.

What are the recommended ways to dry the Source 90 Drink Tube?

For drying the Source 90 drink tube, simply detach from the ICEPLATE® Gen 3, detach the bite valve and (preferably outdoors) swing the drink tube in a 360 degree motion to rapidly expel all water in the tube.

TAPS + Iceplate Backpack chestrig

Add 2 more QASM buckles and straps to the back of the ICEPLATE Sleeve, run 4 female 1in buckles on the corners of your TAPS, and boom you have a good chest rig setup. Works great as a camelbak replacement especially when running the whole setup over a slick plate carrier. Only complaint is I wish they made the sleeve and iceplate a little bigger at least up to match a large plate size.

I use this mainly with the ice plate eco gen 3 I also sometimes use it with the dynamic principles slpc 2.0 works great. Although I have the ice plate eco gen 3 for about 2 months now and it’s showing pretty bad signs of wear. I’m hoping that it’s fine though.

It works.

Not gonna state more than necessary, but it simply works. It simply attaches, and holds. I haven’t seen it have too much play and wobble, personally. And even if it does, it’ll be a quick fix I’m sure.

I have it mounted on a CATAMARAN Gen. 3, and it works fine.

As stated, it works.

Had little issues having it seat on my plate carrier whatsoever. And with the extra hardware they provide, I was able to have it comfortably sit on the back of my carrier, rather than the front.

And in my instance, it is also cross-compatible with different comfort padding from other companies.

All around, solid piece to add to your carrier.

Extra padding and support is appreciated

I’m appreciating the extra padding from my Qore classic icevent shoulder pads cuz my shoulders were aching a bit after just 10 minutes or so with my level IV plates front and rear and level III cummerbund plates and nothing else on the Tactical Edge and Armor PC. Clearly my pc could weigh a few pounds more when fully loaded out, but these classic pads have already helped redistribute the existing weight, and I’m optimistic the pads will mitigate for some additional cargo.
My Pc is just for larping and/or shtf
