In our continuing effort to raise awareness for the value of an empirical approach to equipment analysis as well as sharing the importance of thermoregulation in boosting human performance, we started our Technical Plate Carrier Review series earlier this year. We've compiled the entire series here, in addition to the ICEPLATE EXO® Ultralight Ventilated Plate Carrier data we promised in the video itself for easy reference. We figured that would be easier than being frustrated by the YouTube algorithm.
We intentionally omitted our ICEPLATE EXO® Ultralight Ventilated Plate Carrier because our goal is education. It isn’t to just shill our own plate carrier. ICEPLATE EXO® makes up less than one percent of our unusually diverse business. For those of you who are new to Qore Performance, we live for Building A Superhuman Future. It is why we exist. This means we help customers be the greatest version of themselves, to create competitive advantages where none previously existed. To accomplish this, we design, build, and manufacture thermoregulation and hydration solutions that weaponize temperature to improve performance and survivability for a wide range of end users. Our customers include military, law enforcement, prepared citizens, pilots, outdoor enthusiasts, and dozens of America’s greatest companies which we all know and love. You might have even seen some of our products while in line at your favorite drive thru. Anyone in the mood for some awesome coffee or fried chicken?
We fully submerge the plate carrier in water for 60 minutes, then let it hang dry for 60 seconds. The scale is always zeroed for the weight of the container bin. All of our wet weight tests are conducted in our climate controlled office (~70F) to account for evaporation, sunlight and other external factors that require consistency.
First, we’ll use our FLIR camera to take surface temperature reading of the body facing side of the plate bags. Next, we’ll place a single, fully filled IcePlate Curve, fresh out of the freezer, into the plate bag of each plate carrier. Then, once we’ve closed the plate bag, we’ll place a Tencate Level III hard armor plate on top of the plate bag for 30 seconds to simulate the effect of putting on the plate carrier. We are using a shorter exposure time to make sure we test efficiency and not capacity. Finally, we’ll remove the Tencate Level III hard armor plate from the subject plate bag and take a new FLIR surface temperature reading. The difference between the two readings is the Thermal Transmittance of that plate carrier.

This is a very well thought out a review. I do have a plate carrier that I think you guys should test out and review. The Prime Warrior Plate Carrier 3.0 by Prime Armor, based in Texas
Obtained a set to attach to front plate on Crye JPC 2.0. Adds comfort to front plate on chest and shoulders and relieves pressure on chest. Feels good to wear, can wear carrier for longer periods of time.
Stay frosty, stay toasty in kit. But my favorite part is this bottle is ergonomics of it. It fits in my back pocket perfectly without feeling bulky or annoying. Makes it easy for me to stay hydrated. Would love to see a titanium version come out, just a little less plastic. Keep rock’n it in the tristarstate
These are great to wear on ur plate carrier for ruck or run. At the range frozen in 100° heat they last 3-4hrs of keeping me cool. Keeping my core cooler in the heat kept my fatigue down. Keep extra in the cooler to swap out! They will stay frozen in cooler all day.
Dangled 1 in front & rear at Milsim West allowed me to have water on me that wasn't taking up space on my Plate carrier.
These things keep my lunch box cold all day (14hr shifts)! I keep protein shakes & other drinks in my cooler. At end of work day, still cold and have ice in them in the cooler.
Being that these were $181 and some change, $33 which was shipping (absolutely absurd).... I'm not impressed at all, they product manufacturing is quality but they do not do as described... Do your research, read the reviews before dropping your hard earned money...
Hi Daniel,

Sick af. I love the catamaran because it allows you to use Qore’s vented padding, and/or with an IMS Pro you can utilize the Ice plate! Which you can run with padding if you want! Which is how I personally run it. If you want unparalleled comfort and airflow on any plate carrier this is what you want!
Well for what it is its great, down side i have with it is i wish there was an option during purchase for LEFT OR RIGHT, I'm using it in a slick carrier for under a chest rig and i want the option to have a T junction for being able to connect to both front and back at the same time drinking out of both. with these Two things alone id be bumping up to a 5 star rating with no problems
We outfitted our warehouse staff with ice plates and it has been a solid tool to keep working in the summer heat and and humidity. Tennessee Heat is unforgiving this product is a game changer.
Great item, easy storage. The bottom is easy to drink from and has a steady flow rate with
No leaking. I run the bottle in the right rear wing of my carrier and it fills the space quite nicely.
