From the Canadian infantry here, it gets to about -40 Celsius and it keeps my hands warm as hell. It attaches to any configuration I'm wearing that day whether it be a plate carrier battle belt or micro rig. Lowepro it's behind my hangers. Well made I dragged it through a lot of stuff gravel, snow, all good.
Excellent quality! Filled my needs perfectly. Nothing else on the market like it. Only complaint is that it should be about $25 cheaper though.
Super awesome hand warmer! Works very well and the fleece is very warm, only gripe with it is, once you get a little moisture in there, it takes a long while to get out, great product all around though!
Love the concept! I live in an area of the country that can see temps well below zero at times, so to be able to have the added protection of body armor inserts while also providing a pocket to keep my hands warm for dexterity is crucial. My only concern is the longevity on some of the stitching. Upon receiving the product there were a couple areas where the stitching looked less than ideal. Lots of loose string and open ends. Additionally there were areas where it appears as though they just kept adding more stitching over existing because of running short or other issues. Not exactly the prettiest stitch work I have ever seen and with all the loose threads so time will tell on how it holds together. As long as the stitching holds the product is a win for sure. Function is more important than looks so if it holds together its a win in my book.
I saw a buncha folks talk about these kind of handwarms. This is best for slim loadouts. Does not feel cumbersome.
The Iceshield is a fantastic solution to keeping your digits working when the temperature dips. Being centered on your body you can use both hands and still have your belt immediately accessible. It fits behind other lunchbox style pouches if you have them or can tuck back underneath your vest to be stowed away. Drop a handwarmer inside the Iceshield and that warm goes to 11! Super slick design.
I'm very happy with my purchase. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son who is a LEO. He immediately got his body armor and it attached perfectly. It is light weight, has a slim profile.
In Illinois in the winter usually means thick gloves to shoot outdoors. Not anymore. This keeps hands nice and warm. I use to use a football hand warmer but it was to bulky. This lays flat behind my dangle pouch when not in use. With it hanging from bottom of carrier it's perfect height. Not all the way down on belt line. Wish I had this many cold winters ago.
I love when simple things make huge differences in endurance. This hand warmer made its maiden voyage and kept my hands and trigger finger working well in about 10*F weather for 3-4 hours of training and teaching. The external pouch was great for admin storage and the internal lining didn’t stick to my glove liners or shed and leave lint on my hands.
I had this mounted up to my DFNDR covert carrier and it was unobtrusive during movements, reloads, and manipulations. The hook and loop didn’t interfere with the cummerbund and it was short enough to not interfere with my belt.
This is definitely one of those additions to my gear that I don’t know what I would do without now.
Good bit of kit. Keeps my hands warm in artic and wet conditions.
Was able to ship to the UK too.
