Uncomfortable, sometimes difficult to adjust.

I love that it holds the plate, and overall it's fairly lightweight! However, the shoulder straps are angled slightly outwards/straight instead of being inwards or recessed, so it tends to slip off a LOT.

TAPS + Iceplate Backpack chestrig

Add 2 more QASM buckles and straps to the back of the ICEPLATE Sleeve, run 4 female 1in buckles on the corners of your TAPS, and boom you have a good chest rig setup. Works great as a camelbak replacement especially when running the whole setup over a slick plate carrier. Only complaint is I wish they made the sleeve and iceplate a little bigger at least up to match a large plate size.

I like the idea of this more than I actually like it. The closer this gets to being empty the more of a hindrance it becomes. Unless I have somewhere to ditch it once I drink all the water, I don’t take it with me. Works well for short term use, especially when it’s pressed against your back. This could just be a me thing, but my back only touches 2/3s of the plate unless I’m sitting down or have a backpack on top of it.

ICEPLATE® Backpack Gen 3 (Cooling, Heating and Hydration Backpack for Military, Safety, Outdoor, Ski/Snow)

Impressive performance in a small package.

This iceplate backpack made a big difference in the comfort and enjoyment of my hiking and walking trails. I can comfortably carry less bulk and still maintain everything I need for my walks. The added benefits of being able to add hot water or freeze the iceplate gives it year round use capability in a comfortable small package.

Works well, but the design could use some work.

The backpack works very well keeping me cool. The main issues I have with it are the straps and the velcro on the back. Being a larger person I have to have the straps adjusted to the max, which exposes velcro causing them to scratch. The velcro on the back has gotten caught up in my vest a few times. The cost of the backpack is also high for what you get. Over all I do recommend the backpack for anyone working or playing out in the heat.

ICEPLATE® Backpack Gen 3 (with Cooling, Heating and Hydration)

Bottom flap doesn't need cut outs.

The small laser cut outs on the bottom flap holding the iceplate in makes the material prone to getting ripped or torn easier. Also there is a slight angle on the bottom edge of the iceplate. Extra material needs to be added to accommodate this because it doesn't seem the downward slope was accounted for in the design of the flap. It looks slapped together or jury rigged.

The ICEPLATE® Backpack Gen 3 follows the design footprint of our ICEPLATE® EXO Gen 3 plate carrier, embracing a modular philosophy similar to Toyota's New Global Architecture (TNGA), where one design serves multiple purposes. The laser-cut armor closure flap is crafted to securely hold the ICEPLATE® Curve and the standard Medium ESAPI plate. The flexibility of this design ensures a secure fit, with the downward slope needed for ICEPLATE® Curve's patented TotalDrain Technology. While armor plates don't require this feature, the closure flap effectively secures plates without adding unnecessary material or weight.

Regarding the durability of the laminate material, laser-cut laminate has been an industry standard for several years. Since we began using it in 2019 as our proprietary ICEPLATE® EXO Laminate (we've since added Endurance and Squadron to our laminate lineup), we have tens of thousands of our products in use, often in extreme conditions. We have not encountered a single case of laminate tearing. In fact, our laminate has endured far beyond typical (or advisable) uses. Some customers have even used our laminate products to support their entire body weight during helicopter lifts without failure.

Amazing product

I love this product and use it almost every day. I wear it while I’m running or after a workout to cool down. I use it while doing yard work or almost anything outside because I live in Florida. I purchased the curved plate and it fits great! I can’t speak highly enough about this product.
