Crye Precision AVS Harness Pad Set
The all-new ICEVENTS® Classic Ventilated AVS Harness Pad Set is a set of four or six upgraded ICEVENTS® Classic Ventilation Pontoons that directly replace the six foam pads that come standard with every Crye Precision AVS (Adaptive Vest System). The Crye Precision AVS has been in use with USSOCOM since 2012, but despite significant advances in load-bering technology since then, the AVS hasn't had any major updates. That ends now with the ICEVENTS® Classic Ventilated AVS Harness Pad Set upgrade.
Built on the venerable ICEVENTS® Classic plate carrier ventilation pad platform using proprietary Stimulite® honeycomb technology, ICEVENTS® Classic Ventilated AVS Harness Pad Sets provide stand-off ventilation and padding under the Crye Precision AVS Harness to dramatically improve air flow and long-term wear comfort. Stand-off ventilation inside the Crye Precision AVS promotes evaporative cooling (click here to learn more about the different types of cooling/energy transmission) and eliminates hotspots. I love my ventilation pontoons. They’ve definitely made a difference in the ventilation of air in between my vest and my body. My pontoons are coupled with the ice plates, which help with the spreading of the coldness to my body. I’m glad I purchased them and would recommend them to anyone who wears a plate carrier/vest.
Truth be told, these had the potential to be very helpful for keeping cool but unfortunately I still find myself getting hot inside my vest.
They are super simple to use and install but the material should be thicker to give more space between you and your vest to allow more air flow.

Comfortable and keeps you cool, just have to find the place ment that works best for you.
So I personally do private security so I work 40-50 hour weeks regularly but can exceed 60 hours with picking up shifts. 8 to 12 hour shifts each in full kit, and I’ll tell you off the bat from personal experience with over 500 hours in my kit with this padding that all of Qore Performance’s are genuinely one of the best products I’ve ever bought for my kit! The pads feel great, the padding pattern itself I find aids greatly with the giant puddle of sweat you have every day under your plate carrier on your shirt. The airflow they create with how the pads are placed is just amazing! It creates a wonderful space between your chest and your plates which I love! They’re waterproof, and super comfortable! After a long day now with Qore Performance’s state of the art padding really takes that disgust and stress away cause I’m no longer in a pool of my own sweat anymore. Thanks so much!
Put these on my Angel Armor RISE Tactical Carrier and it doesn’t help with ventilation or escaping heat.

Here is an article from our INSIGHTS blog with the empirical data comparing the energy transfer on various plate carriers with and without ICEVENTS® present. As you can see from the data, ICEVENTS® are a minimum of 11.35% more efficient than a plate carrier without ICEVENTS® on the low end and 154.32% more efficient than a plate carrier without ICEVENTS® on the high end, for this sample set. TLDR: ICEVENTS® are empirically provent to remove heat from plate carrier/body interfaces.

Using these on a first spear carrier, don't know thats Ive fely much difference just yet. I expect that to change come warmer months.
They do get a bit abrassive when wearing a compression shirt under the pads. Nothing horrible but noticable.
I do wish they were sold in a more affordable 4 pack rather than the 2 pack at the current price. Thats where the price would make more sense to me personally.
Until warmer months, I will just keep them out.
Price to value is the reason for the 3 stars, not the product performance.

Also, as mentioned on the product page, ICEVENTS® work using the principle of convection, facilitating normal function of your natural thermoregulation mechanism: sweating. Sweat evaporating from the surface of your skin is nearly imperceptible to the conscious mind. By contrast, the feeling of a block of ice against your skin is extremely noticeable even in the most intense heat found on earth. It sounds like you would prefer an experience with greater contrast. I’m sorry I had to take them off. The edges were cutting my neck they are too sharp.. I have other their products for sides and back vent work great.

I got the pontoons and the icevents low pro shoulder pads. I have both on a Haley Thorax. Going into it, I was expecting more. They do help with keeping the part of your body they’re touching less hot, and help a little bit with distributing load. Little and less being the key words. No noticeable difference imo and for the price I expect noticeable (I had to really dig in and compare how I felt with & w/o). I find them between comfortable and uncomfortable to wear. The honeycomb is fine and breaks in quick, but the liner of the fabric is sharp and often scratches into my shoulders and sides (pontoons are on a cummerbund). 3 stars for $75-100 products. Would be 4 if they were 2/3 that price. Expectation management. Will do a YouTube review soon.

That said, we think some additional context will help set you up for success.
FEEL
We have a number of resources on our INSIGHTS blog and our YouTube Channel to help customers understand the differences between an ICEPLATE® experience and an ICEVENTS® experience. TLDR: ICEPLATE® uses conduction, so the 'feeling' will be extremely high contrast because of the power involved. ICEVENTS® use convection, so the feeling will be more subtle. Think of the difference you 'feel' from sweating...while you don’t “feel” cold, sweating cools your body thanks to the magic of physics. If you are looking for a super high contrast experience to help you maximize your performance in the field (we never underestimate the power of confidence in the field), ICEPLATE® is probably the better performance product for you. SETUP
It is important to analyze ICEVENTS® performance in the context of your specific setup. While ICEVENTS® themselves empirically outperform every other form of padding on the market today and they will improve any setup to which they are added (mileage varies), their performance can be restricted by the setup itself. When used with less breathable plate carrier designs/materials, the convective power of ICEVENTS® is limited by those materials, especially when they block the largest surface area exposure with a material like spacer mesh. The THORAX uses spacer mesh to line the cummerbund. Spacer mesh is actually an insulator which inhibits both convective air flow and heat dissipation. This is not us speaking poorly of the THORAX (quite the opposite as we’ve always enjoyed a friendly relationship with HSP and still do today, we’ve also featured their products in our marketing photography for years with products provided to us by HSP). We’re merely attempting to provide some purely empirical context for analysis. Here is an article from our INSIGHTS blog with the empirical evidence for why we do not use spacer mesh. ICEVENTS®, no matter how capable, cannot make a plate carrier like the THORAX deliver the same Thermal Transmittance performance as say the Ferro Concepts FCPC V5 or the T.Rex Arms AC1.

It quickly releases the heat generated inside the Vest and lowers the temperature of the body.
Sweat but induce quick drying.
It also halves the uncomfortable feeling of clothes sticking to the body.
This product is recommended as a functional product that helps maintain the same freshness as before wearing it.
I put them on a Whiskey Two Four plate carrier 24 and they work perfectly! Got the belt pads as well same result worked perfect.

The ICEFLASK is something I didn't know I needed until it became a thing. As my position has been significantly downgraded, the need for a large amount of hydro on the X is no longer a thing. But, it still gets hot, and cold.
What ICEFLASK has allowed me to do is convert ICEPLATE into a permanent heating/cooling apparatus while still maintaining an adequate amount of drinking water.
Now, why ICEFLASK over any other water carrying device? Because of durability and kit-fit. The old school bladder was probe to bursting, creating an uncomfortable situation. Much like many other (nalgene, GI Canteen), the discomfort would come from having to "kit around" something that isnt built for accommodation. ICEFLASK fits into your kit, and works around what you've already built. Nothing says Fxxx it like having to rearrange your kit to add something as insignificant as "water"...
But, yeah. ICEFLASK, like many of the Qore products, is a good piece of kit.
The ridiculous hike in price makes this the last ice plate I will be purchasing. About $80 for a water bladder is not very affordable.

These pads are good if you’re wearing a kit that’s minimalist in nature. Once you start adding a considerable amount of weight to the plate carrier, these pads simply don’t have enough padding and do not disperse the weight far enough to relieve pressure points. Great product, love the company but if you’re wearing anything more than a basic loadout I’d recommend a different product.

The iceflask is a great addition to my kit. Puts water in previously dead space with the added ability to freeze it if needed. The pouch works great and adding paracord makes it easy to access.
Best plate carrier I’ve used. Does what they say it will do and is extremely comfortable. Impressed me so much I bought a second one.
