ICEPLATE® Hydration Backpack Gen 3 (with Cooling + Heating) [Chest Rig Hydration]

Add 2 more QASM buckles and straps to the back of the ICEPLATE Sleeve, run 4 female 1in buckles on the corners of your TAPS, and boom you have a good chest rig setup. Works great as a camelbak replacement especially when running the whole setup over a slick plate carrier. Only complaint is I wish they made the sleeve and iceplate a little bigger at least up to match a large plate size.

I like the idea of this more than I actually like it. The closer this gets to being empty the more of a hindrance it becomes. Unless I have somewhere to ditch it once I drink all the water, I don’t take it with me. Works well for short term use, especially when it’s pressed against your back. This could just be a me thing, but my back only touches 2/3s of the plate unless I’m sitting down or have a backpack on top of it.

This iceplate backpack made a big difference in the comfort and enjoyment of my hiking and walking trails. I can comfortably carry less bulk and still maintain everything I need for my walks. The added benefits of being able to add hot water or freeze the iceplate gives it year round use capability in a comfortable small package.

The backpack works very well keeping me cool. The main issues I have with it are the straps and the velcro on the back. Being a larger person I have to have the straps adjusted to the max, which exposes velcro causing them to scratch. The velcro on the back has gotten caught up in my vest a few times. The cost of the backpack is also high for what you get. Over all I do recommend the backpack for anyone working or playing out in the heat.

The small laser cut outs on the bottom flap holding the iceplate in makes the material prone to getting ripped or torn easier. Also there is a slight angle on the bottom edge of the iceplate. Extra material needs to be added to accommodate this because it doesn't seem the downward slope was accounted for in the design of the flap. It looks slapped together or jury rigged.

I gave it 4 stars because I think the straps can somehow be more comfortable at that price. Still good and useful though

I love this product and use it almost every day. I wear it while I’m running or after a workout to cool down. I use it while doing yard work or almost anything outside because I live in Florida. I purchased the curved plate and it fits great! I can’t speak highly enough about this product.

I'm training for a half marathon and this hydration backpack checks 3 crucial boxes for me: 1) it provides wearable hydration that's evenly distributed over my back; 2) it makes me more visible when I run before the sun rises; and 3) it helps cool my body when I have to run in 90+ degree heat.

I'm a petite woman (5'0", currently 110 lbs still carrying some baby weight), and I was worried the backpack might feel cumbersome, but to my surprise, it's quite comfortable and doesn't impact my movement at all. In fact, sometimes I forget I'm wearing it until I remember how hot it is outside and realize I'm feeling more refreshed than I should.

One of the BEST features (besides the cooling factor) is the pocket in the back that fits my phone. Even as the ice begins to melt, my phone is protected from the condensation. It also stays put when I'm running since the pocket is thick and stretchy.

If I could change one thing, it would be the shape of the straps. I miss the curvy, female-specific straps from my other backpack. These straps don't really lay flat as they go around my chest. It's not a dealbreaker by any means—I'm honestly shocked that a product can work for both a small woman and a big man—just something I thought about as I put it on for the first time.

Out of the box, the backpack seems simple—almost too simple for the price—but once you start using it, you begin to notice all of the thought and planning that went into it. It's minimalism at its finest, and you won't regret getting this if you have to train in the heat.
