ICEPLATE® INSIDE
Now discontinued in favor of mounting IMS Pro Gen 3 via our CATAMARAN Gen 3 Adapter panel for universal mounting, IMS Versa was created to expand the IMS family and bring internal ICEPLATE® Curve mounting to every MOLLE-equipped plate carrier on the market. The Army previously requested that we accomplish this using our Side Release Armor Straps to meet their requirements. Like most US government-inspired designs, and by our standards, this was not an optimal or elegant solution (the Side Release Armor Straps are a discontinued product). All of that changes now with our all-new IMS Versa Gen 3 for plate carriers that lack the internal loop Velcro fields like you can find on our ICEPLATE EXO®, Crye Precision AVS, or Shaw Concepts ARC Carrier V2 to readily mount ICEPLATE® Curve for internal, conductive cooling, heating, and hydration.
What is the difference between IMS Pro Gen 3 and IMS Versa Gen 3?
Our proven ICEPLATE® Curve has been a game changer for plate carrier users for some time now, eliminating heat injuries for tens of thousands of end users across public and private organizations. However, not every setup could utilize our ICEPLATE® MOLLE Sleeve systems. No matter your preference or mission requirements in a plate carrier, you can take advantage of the thermoregulation technology of ICEPLATE® Curve with our all-new, universal IMS Versa Gen 3.
The elegant laser-cut split bar ladder mounts on either side of the sleeve give the Versa its namesake, universal plate carrier, and soft body armor compatibility. The game-changing versatility of adjustment makes mounting an ICEPLATE® Curve to any MOLLE-equipped carrier as simple as choosing what height and placement work best for you and your setup. The benefits of ICEPLATE® Curve are now truly universal: plate carrier or vest, hard or soft, MOLLE or slick, overt or covert. IMS Versa Gen 3 works with everything.
Important note: IMS Versa Gen 3 is not optimized for ICEPLATE EXO® Gen 3 (even though it will work). ICEPLATE EXO® Gen 3 owners should purchase IMS Pro Gen 3 Combo.

Is IMS Versa Gen 3 better than IMS Pro Gen 3?
While IMS Versa Gen 3 has brought many more Plate Carriers up to speed with integrating ICEPLATE® Curve, IMS Pro Gen 3 is still what we consider the optimal hydration and thermoregulation solution. If your setup is compatible with IMS Pro Gen 3, we would advise to utilize that product for greater flexibility of addition and removal of ICEPLATE® Curve from your plate carrier.
Can this mount to my slick Plate Carrier?
Unless your carrier has MOLLE, the IMS family (ICEPLATE® MOLLE Sleeve) likely won't be the solution you're looking for. Instead, we would recommend adding Velcro to the inside of your carrier's rear plate bag and utilizing the IMS Pro Gen 3. Great for long weighted walks/runs in the Miami heat, lasted around 2-3 hours but the cold water to drink helps immensely.
Can't wait to use it in the National Guard so I don't have to suffer from the humidity and sun, I'd recommend it to my peers so they too don't have to suffer and increase our sustainability.

The only thing that I wasn’t a fan of is that it is very hard to take the ice plate in and out of the sleeve. The Velcro to secure it is inside of the sleeve, so this makes it difficult to easily take the ice plate out to refill or clean. I ended up rigging up 4 Velcro straps that allow me to have the bottom flap on the outside of the sleeve. Now I have super quick access to remove and refill my water. Did the same thing with my friends sleeve.

The IMS Pro is a great system for mounting the ice plate. There’s many different ways to mount this and they all stay in place!

If your on the fence just do it you will not regret it. This is a great addition to any setup. When you think about it you have cooling or heating capabilities while also having half a days water streamlined into your gear with little or no additional drag. It's a smart and effective way to have your gear multitask without adding bulk.

Looking for a way to carry more water directly on my plate carrier and this is perfect. Fits just right on the back of my Crye SPC size M. I’m thinking about swapping places with the back plate and the hydration plate to try the cooling out. I don’t know why it wouldn’t work?

I want to say this seems to be a good product, however there are things that could make it better. First the pros;
- Love the design and shape going right along with the plate carrier. So much better than an odd shape water bladder.
- Love the hard, solid shape design over a soft bladder. Seems sturdy and not likely to lead like soft bladders always do.
- Really like the hose fittings and mouth pieces, better than the typical camelbak. Easy to take out the bladder and fill then re-attach.
Now to the cons.
- Low capacity. I wish the bladder was a bit thicker, closer to 1 inch thick so it is on par with the thicker ballistic plates. I wish this for two reasons, first to increase the water capacity and second so the carrier would be able to accommodate the thicker plates so you could switch out the plate and water bladder for the cooling benefit. Currently with my plates they don’t fit in the carrier for the bladder so I cannot use this for the cooling effect.
For what the product is, it is good but if there was some minor changes then it could be great.

The ICEPLATE® Curve is indeed 1” thick, matching the profile of the Medium ESAPI armor plate, which, according to Department of Defense data, fits 80% of the general population. We selected this architecture to ensure seamless integration with most plate carrier plate bags that accept a Medium ESAPI, while offering cooling, heating, and hydration benefits to the widest range of users. Based on your review, it sounds like you might be using the IMS Pro externally. While this is possible, it’s not ideal for maximizing ICEPLATE® Curve’s cooling and heating benefits. The IMS Pro’s laser-cut design is intended to provide maximum conductivity when mounted internally, allowing direct ICEPLATE® Curve contact with the wearer’s body for optimal thermoregulation, while keeping your armor plate in your rear plate bag.
For increased hydration capacity, we recommend an external mounting of an additional ICEPLATE® Curve via the IMS, combined with your internal IMS Pro setup. I do kinda wish I bought the 15$ knock-off ice pack & sewed a molle carrier since I have the equipment & a background both in engineering & tailoring. I expected more. It gets 4 stars since I suspect it's more durable than the chinesium I could put in a diy carrier but that remains to be seen.

I used the iceplate with a esstac plate carrier and a lvl 4 steel plate in the rear bag with a lvl 4 ceramic in the front bag. As well as a magazine placard. I used this set up to do the Murph workout on memorial day. I was a bit skeptical how well it would work. Here to say that I was shocked about how the iceplate lessened my fatigue throughout the workout. In my opinion Qore is making super humans with thermal regulation. I'm in the process to get one of there carriers and plate combos

Running a 5.11 TacTec with 11x14 curves, I had to take the route of the IMS Pro Sleeve for my IcePlate. Dilemma was inside vs. outside. Inside and I lose my super comfy vented pads and am forced to purchase additional padding for the long days comfort OR outside and I retain my cushions but lose nearly 4 rows of molle on sides and bottom which is valuable real-estate for my multi-day outings. I opted for the outside method and I stacked my MultiFak onto my admin toolkit as I am multi role medic and wrench/gunsmith. Slightly inconvenient should I need my tools rapidly but as with anything, we adapt to the circumstances.
Mounting is so easy a fireman can do it and the construction is phenomenal. Time will tell how it holds up to rocks and trees but I am fairly confident in Qore Performance Products... #111percentEMS
