Important note on iPad Removal: At the request of our iPad enterprise customers, we designed the ICECASE Gen 3 iPad Cooling Case to be a "one way trip" for your iPad for maximum security and protection. ICECASE Gen 3 is not designed to have iPads repeatedly inserted and removed in order to minimize the possibility of iPads being damaged. iPads can be charged while in ICECASE Gen 3!

**On average ICEBLOQ will freeze in about an hour when stored in a freezer set below 0°F and with a substantial amount of surface area exposed. For high tempo applications where logistics are more rolling, we have seen the best practice be a bucket of ice water proximal to the end-user to facilitate hot swaps. ICEBLOQ will give around a 2:1 discharge to charge time. For example, charging for 15 minutes in a bucket of ice slurry will give you around a half hour of discharging.

Not as expected

These cases took nearly 4 months to ship in, then when they arrive they’re nothing like what was pictured or advertised. Getting ahold of someone at Qore performance has been terrible. If I could I would choose to not purchase through them again. Terrible experience.

We want to provide some context that may help future readers. This order was placed as a pre-release request before ICECASE® Gen 3 was publicly available. At the time of purchase, we communicated that development and delivery would take an extended period and that the final Gen 3 design could evolve before release.

ICECASE® Gen 3 ultimately launched as a new platform driven by real-world operational feedback, which resulted in changes from earlier concepts and renderings. All public product imagery and specifications were updated prior to general availability to reflect the final production design.

We regret the frustration this caused and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Experiences like this help reinforce why we now limit pre-release ordering and clearly separate development timelines from production availability.

needs a rear hand hold

In order to use the right (or left) hand to draw or write on the screen, the unit needs to have a strap on the back to secure the other hand. The neck strap is good if you need to use both hands (none computer) but it is not effective to use this unit in a software program that requires one hand to be free. I did not purchase with the shield as it would have hampered further my use of the device. I sawed off the hand strap from my Miesherk case which did not have any way to stop the heat build up of the computer and bolted on the back of this case. There were no issues in making the adaption and now I not only have a good heat sink but also can operate the required software easily as a veteran 24 year insurance claims adjuster.

ICECASE® Gen 3 was designed specifically for QSR environments, where tablets are typically mounted, docked, or integrated into our vest systems rather than handheld for extended one-handed use. In that context, the attachment points and carry options are optimized for thermal management, retention, and compatibility with those systems, not as a standalone ergonomic handhold.

Not great

While the idea of this case was just what were where looking for. This cas its less then impressive. Some parts are injection molded and others are 3d printed and not the nest quality. there is no grip to the overly think case and while i get why it is thick it is offers zero grip. you have no way to set it against a RTU and have it stay with out haveing other items to hold it in that position. The heating handwarmer insert was great idea/ concept but doesn't work. it provides very limited warming ability as no air is moving around the warmer so it dies out and you have to take it out and move it around to re-activate it constanly. This is deffeniatly not work the price at all, I would maybe buy it if it was 50 bucks but even that is not a great deal.

ICECASE® iPad Heating was specifically designed for QSR and fixed-station environments, where tablets remain docked, protected from airflow, and benefit from steady conductive warming. It wasn’t intended for mobile, outdoor, or RTU-mounted use cases where airflow, movement, and exposure significantly reduce heating effectiveness.

Your feedback on grip, form factor, and heating performance is valid for the application you described, but that use case falls outside the environment ICECASE® was engineered to support. That limitation, along with lessons learned from early generations, directly informed later design changes and refinements.

Smart Simple Solution

As an owner of a new franchise concept that relies heavily on outdoor order taking in Texas, having the ability to use tech outside in temp that often rise well above 100 degrees - we were searching for a simple and cost effective solution. Needs improvement

Does a great job of keeping it cool, but needs a hand strap and some sort of hood to keep glare off. For $150 I think it should have it

We listened to your feedback and in the three years since you purchased your first generation IceCase, we have improved the design substantially and customers are loving it! The foam chassis has been completely replaced by an all-new injection-molded case that we designed from scratch. We incorporated a brand new modular SunShield that is incredibly lightweight in addition to be detachable for days/applications where it is not needed. We also took your suggestion of incorporating a wrist strap and straps to clip the IceCase directly into our IceVests for hands-free carriage. We hope you'll check it out!

Great for travel baseball

I prefer using my iPad for GameChanger, but I bought an Otterbox to protect it and it overheated super quick in a game that it wasn’t even that hot outside (my iPhone did just fine) so I started doing research for something that would keep it cool and safe and found this, so glad I did! We have all day long tournaments on weekends, and I’ve already been able to try it out! It does great!! And the nice thing is the ice packs you don’t have to refreeze, putting them in ice water brings them back to normal where they will cool down your iPad. Since the system comes with two ice packs I had one in ice water and the other in the system and I was always protected. So happy with my purchase!
