  [ OVERVIEW ]

COOLING/HEATING WITH YOUR DRINKING WATER

Worn close to the body, ICEPLATE® Curve is a Medium ESAPI-shaped water bottle that cools/warms/hydrates you with 50 fl oz (1.5 L) of drinking water, delivering 70 watts of cooling power or 52 watts of heating power with hands-free plate carrier or backpack hydration for unparalleled control over your environment. Another way to think of ICEPLATE® Curve is like a booster rocket designed to put you into orbit with a full gas tank, not necessarily to last the entire mission. Engineered for elite users looking for every edge in the performance of their duties, ICEPLATE® Curve creates decisive competitive advantages where none previously existed by weaponizing temperature to enhance performance and survivability.

ICECAP Update 08AUG 2024: effective immediately, all ICEPLATE® Curve Drinkable and Standalone orders will ship with ICECAPS that do not have the gray shroud on the white female QD shown in photography and videos. We are depleting our inventory of the current generation ICECAP to replace it with the all-new ICECAP Gen 3 in the coming months. As soon as ICECAP Gen 3 is released, all ICEPLATE® Curve Drinkable and Standalone customers who placed orders after 08 AUG 2024 will receive a code for a FREE ICECAP Gen 3 to replace their white Q/D parts.

Please Note: MOLLE Velcro Side Release Armor Straps are not included with ICEPLATE® Curve. IMS, IMS Pro, or IMS VERSA are the accessories we recommend for the optimal experience when running ICEPLATE® Curve with a plate carrier. Each one is designed to meet specific needs, so you can choose the one that's right for you. For Sport and recreational use, we suggest our ICEPLATE® Backpack Gen 3 or ICEPLATE EXO®-SLK Gen 3

FAQs

Definitely! ICEPLATE® Curve can seamlessly integrate into a variety of backpacks, both as an internal and external component. For everyday carry and tactical uses, we suggest using packs from Vertx and Haley Strategic Partners. You will appreciate the reduction in bulk and the elimination of the typical "water bottle bulge."

Explore various backpack models compatible with ICEPLATE® here.

Maintaining your ICEPLATE® is straightforward due to its dishwasher-safe design. Simply remove the cap (which fits perfectly in the utensil basket) and place ICEPLATE® upside down in the bottom rack of your dishwasher. Run it through a standard wash and dry cycle.

Alternatively, you can wash it by hand. Just soak it in warm, soapy water and gently scrub the surface with a soft sponge. Make sure to rinse the bite valve thoroughly before use.

For detailed cleaning instructions, visit this article.

The drinking tube of your ICEPLATE® is also designed to be dishwasher safe, allowing for easy cleaning alongside your ICEPLATE®. If you prefer, it can be hand washed using the same method described for ICEPLATE®.

If you notice condensation build-up (especially before storing the tube long-term) consider using the Platypus Tube Brush for thorough cleaning.

More details on tube care can be found in this article, along with this helpful video.

While it's possible to use other liquids, we recommend sticking with water for optimal performance and ease of cleaning.

To completely dry your ICEPLATE®, hang it by securing a rubber band through the top strap loop. Place the rubber band through the opposite strap loop of the exit port to maximize drainage, thanks to our TotalDrain Technology.

For drying the tube, similar hanging methods are advised. Use a tube brush if you encounter stubborn condensation inside.

Yes, the ICEPLATE® boasts a quiet design due to its solid construction, making it ideal for various situations where noise reduction is crucial.

Discover the technology behind its quiet design here.

It's best to empty and dry your ICEPLATE® after each use, as water can become stale within 24 hours under certain conditions. Freezing ICEPLATE® extends the storage duration significantly.

Each ICEPLATE® model, including the Curve, holds over 50 fluid ounces (about 1.5 liters). It offers 70 watts of cooling power and can be filled with hot water to provide 52 watts of heating power, enhancing comfort in various climates.

When fully frozen, the ICEPLATE® provides several hours of cooling and sustains hydration for an 8-hour shift, although individual experiences can vary based on several factors like metabolic efficiency, size, and environmental conditions.

Yes, the ICEPLATE® is designed to produce condensation that cools the outer layer of your clothing and evaporates to keep you cool and dry. For optimal performance, pair it with moisture-wicking or hydrophobic garments.

ICEPLATE® can be worn either on the front or back. For first-time users, we recommend trying it on the back. For more information on positioning, read our blog post: How to wear ICEPLATE®.

For varied armor setups, here are some options:

good

fits in my plate carrier well. would recommend to anyone who wants a hydration pack/freezer pack for their plate carrier.

Quick note for context: for the best ICEPLATE®/plate carrier experience, we highly recommend using one of our ICEPLATE® MOLLE Sleeves (IMS) to mount ICEPLATE® to your plate carrier since it is not armor and should only go inside of your plate bag for fitness training, or airsoft/sim:

Solid Piece of Kit

Overall a solid piece of kit to have. Currently running it through its paces in a JPC for combat training in 115°F heat. My only complaint would be the hose connection. Have had multiple training exercises where the hose becomes disconnected from the 90° elbow that quick connects to the plate. This then empties all the water in the plate being that it's at the bottom. Fixed by zip tying the hose to elbow connector but a bit of an oversight for a product that costs $100+. Only reason I had to give it 4 instead of 5 stars.

Good but too expensive

It’s good, does exactly what I want it to do, it just doesn’t need to cost as much as it does…

Hi Gilles,
Thank you for leaving an honest account of your ICEPLATE® Curve experience from Australia! We are glad to hear it delivers for you! You are 100% spot on that American-made products are unfathomably expensive in your country, Australia. However, those outrageous costs are well beyond our control. The reason for the high cost of our products (well, all US-made products) in your country is because of 1) Geography and 2) the taxes/duties imposed on imports by the Australian government. Here is a link to an article from the Business section of our INSIGHTS blog with details on those high taxes/duties imposed on imports by your government:
https://www.qoreperformance.com/blogs/running-the-business/why-are-american-made-products-so-expensive-abroad-europe-australia-etc-how-international-shipping-tariffs-customs-duties-and-vat-work?_pos=1&_psq=why-expensive-ab&_ss=e&_v=1.0
We hope this helps, but please let us know if you have any additional questions.

No regrets!!

As a shooter and a medical provider, I felt that this would be a great addition to my daily kit. I was NOT mistaken. Absolutely love the iceplate purely as a supplemental hydration kit as I have not yet actually froze one. I now have 2 units for my 2 different carriers and HIGHLY recommend for anyone.

Great way to keep cool

It’s a very minimalistic way to carry water and you can freeze it so it keeps you cool during a hot day while also being big enough to last all day long it was definitely a great purchase.

Basically a hard shell Camelback

When frozen it does keep you cool in extreme heat (with both field top and combat top) the drinking tube took a second to get used to but the qd hose is a nice feature. With it being hard shell you don't have to worry about it poping on you when sitting in a vehicle like most other water pack. The main issue I've had and the only reason I give it 3/5 is with my plate it keeps leaking through the rubber valve on the top of the ice plate just annoying in the heat but I can see it being a huge issue in a cold weather environment.

Hi Dayton,
Thank you for taking the time to share an honest account of your ICEPLATE® Curve experience. We are sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing. We can assure you this is atypical and occurs in less than 0.01% of all ICEPLATE® Curves sold. As such, we'd love to make this right and get you a proper ICEPLATE® Curve experience. If you could, please send us a short video of the issue you are having. With this information we can put in a replacement order and get you squared away. Again, we do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and we look forward to your response.
We hope this helps, but please let us know if you have any additional questions. #StayFrosty

Worked very well in the field

Fits in the Noveritch plate carrier but not quite entirely. Bottom of plate carrier does not close very well and it makes wearing the pc a bit less comfortable. So maybe this is a hint for the next version?

Hi Roeland,
Thank you for taking the time to leave an honest account of your ICEPLATE® Curve experience. As noted above on the ICEPLATE® Curve product page, ICEPLATE® Curve fits in plate bags designed for Medium ESAPI armor plates for training purposes. However, most plate bags don’t work with ICEPLATE® Curve if you want to run it in Drinkable configuration as would be done for duty applications. The reason is that most plate bags are not cut properly to account for the Exit Port/ICECAP. In our experience, many plate carriers designed for airsoft, like the Noveritch, have variance in the plate bag dimensions that also make compatibility more challenging and more difficult than in duty-grade plate carriers for which ICEPLATE® Curve is engineered. For these use cases, we highly recommend using ICEPLATE® Curve with one of our ICEPLATE® MOLLE Sleeves (IMS):
https://www.qoreperformance.com/blogs/military-insights/what-is-the-difference-between-ims-and-ims-pro-iceplate-molle-sleeve-vs-iceplate-molle-sleeve-pro

National Guard/AT

I am at 12 bravo in the Army National Guard.
my main experience has been using your product during weekend drills and this year’s AT.

Overall I am super pleased with the product and its ability to keep you cooler and hydrated.
I’m wearing your product on the back plate with an issued IOTV which are bulky, heavy and retains a lot of heat. Your product truly helps battle warm temperatures when I have the ability to fill it with ice water or if I could freeze it.

My only downside because I wish it could hold just a little more water. But I fully recognize that incorporating a front plate would probably fix this problem.

I also plan on incorporating your product with some of my non-military backpacking trips(probably in the front, I like to use an external frame).

Hi Nate,
Thank you for taking the time to leave an honest account of your ICEPLATE® Curve experience. Here is a link to an INSIGHTS article with a detailed explanation on why we build ICEPLATE® Curve in size medium only at this time. There is also detailed information on ICEPLATE® capacity:
