How do I add IceVents® Plate Carrier Ventilation Pontoons or IcePlate® Curve to the inside of my body armor?
We get this question all the time and the answer is super easy! You can make your plate carrier or soft body armor vest IceVents® or IcePlate® compatible in just three easy steps:
1. Add our adhesive-backed Velcro strips to your order to start.
2. Have your uniform tailor sew the Velcro loop strips onto your carrier using these instructions:
Sewing the adhesive Velcro loop strips included with IceVents® Classic Plate Carrier Ventilation Pontoons is super easy. We STRONGLY recommend sewing for strenuous applications like infantry live fires, o-courses, and maritime applications like MIO, OTB, and VBSS.
First, place the adhesive loop strips toward the edge of the inside panel of your plate carrier so that when IceVents® are installed, the edge of the IceVents® are at the edge of the plate carrier to allow air to flow through the IceVents®. The lines in the picture below indicate the sewing lines:
Here is an image showing where the stitch lines would be with the IceVents® installed. Stitch the adhesive loop strips to the plate carrier. Do not sew the adhesive loop strips to the IceVents®. The image below is for demonstration/reference purposes only.
3. This will give you the option to mount either IceVents® Classic Ventilation Pontoons and/or IMS Pro Combo to the inside of your carrier depending on your specific application and climate:
Above: IMS Pro mounted to the inside of our IcePlate EXO® Ultralight Ventilated Plate Carrier for plate carrier cooling, heating, and hydration.
Above: IceVents® Classic Plate Carrier Ventilation Pontoons can be mounted to the inside of any plate carrier or soft body armor with Velcro loop fields installed, like on our IcePlate EXO® Ultralight Ventilated Plate Carrier shown above.
