Put the water you carry to work. ICEPLATE® Gen 3 combines hydration with cooling and heating in a low-profile, Medium ESAPI-shaped reservoir.

70 W cooling

Freeze ICEPLATE® for a typical 2–4 hours of cooling.*

52 W heating

Fill with warm water for a typical 3–5 hours of heating.* Follow the temperature limits in the instructions.

1.55 L hydration

Carry 52.4 fl oz of water. Choose the Drinkable configuration for hands-free hydration.

*Duration varies with environmental conditions, workload and mounting. Conductive body cooling and heating require body-facing placement; carrying ICEPLATE® externally does not provide the same effect. Follow the filling, freezing and warm-water instructions.

A shape built for close carry

The curved, Medium ESAPI-shaped reservoir measures 9.5 × 12.5 × 1.1 inches. Its structured profile fits close to your equipment without the rounded shape of a conventional water bottle.

Hard-cell construction

A rigid HDPE body provides a structured alternative to a flexible hydration bladder. ICEPLATE® Gen 3 is made in the USA from US materials.

ICEPLATE® is a water reservoir, not ballistic armor.

Quick-disconnect hydration

The Drinkable configuration includes the Source 90 Drink Tube with Helix bite valve, ICECAP Gen 3 quick-disconnect, Valve Cap and Cap Tether.

Cooling / Warming Only includes two Closed Caps and no drink tube.

Access from either end

Top and bottom fill ports both use 28-410 threads, providing access for filling, draining and cleaning.

ICECAP Gen 3, Valve Cap and Closed Cap each function correctly on either ICEPLATE® Gen 3 port.

Its good but itll cost you.

Its good but... price for the full setup put me off buying for a long time and im still not fully convinced it was worth the cost of it. Secondly the fact it only carries 1.5L of water compared to the my normal 3L camelbak with the fact I mostly carry/use about 2L is a big drawback. I've been looking to buying am ice plate since the first Gen came out but the fact they haven't made a 2L slightly expanded version is frustrating!

We completely understand why moving from a 2L–3L soft bladder down to 1.5L (52.4 oz) feels like a trade-off initially. The 1.5L volume is a deliberate engineering decision based on two factors:

1. ESAPI Geometry: Matching the exact footprint of a Medium ESAPI armor plate maintains an ultra-low profile that integrates seamlessly into plate carriers without bulk or shifting your center of gravity.
2. Physiological Science: As documented in the Borden Institute Monograph Series (Water Requirements and Soldier Hydration* by Dr. Scott J. Montain and Dr. Matthew Ely), active core thermoregulation reduces fluid requirements by up to 50%. By lowering your sweat rate through conductive cooling, 1.5L of iced water delivers the functional endurance equivalent of carrying 2L–3L of ambient water in a traditional bladder.

Should be standard issue gear

Only used them cold so far, but these are incredibly useful and work better than I'd even hoped. They add some bulk and some weight, there's no avoiding that, but in my case I find it well worth it. Now I need them to make some 11x14s

Civilian use.

This fits perfectly in the 15" laptop sleeve in my backpack. It provides me with a backup source of water and doubles as a weight plate.

This is a great idea!

I have an Agelite flat pack attached to my Agelite carrier that holds their 3 liter water bladder. It's great if you're not wearing a pack but if you throw a small daypack on over top of it then you risk the chance of bursting the bladder because you've got a pack over top of it that is squishing it. So I replaced their water bladder with this hard one and now my pack can squish it all it wants and it's not going to burst. I then put my Agelite bladder in my daypack because nothing is going to go on top of that and squish it. Once this catches on I think it will be standard setup for all plate carriers.

We understand your concerns around both the cap configuration and the available colorways. ICEPLATE® Gen 3 is offered in multiple configurations because different users have different requirements. The drinkable version includes a one-way valve for hands-free hydration under load, while a cooling/heating-only version is available with closed caps for users who don’t want a valve at all. These options are clearly differentiated at the time of purchase.

ICEPLATE® Gen 3 also introduced a new manufacturing platform and material set, which required changes to available colorways. Current options are listed prior to checkout so customers can make an informed selection.

Awesome idea and design!

The rigid canteen that fits in a plate carrier is awesome and it works. The drink tube that came with it didn't work, but they replaced it quickly and for free with a tube that rocks. Their stuff is only compatible with a few things: none of my Blackhawk-Hydrastorm and only one of my Camelbacks. The straps are kinda useless: still figuring out how to mount the canteen to various rigs.

Perfect!!!

Best solution for hydration in the field, military, Airsoft, civilian!!!!

Which configuration should I choose?

Choose Drinkable / Cooling / Warming for hands-free hydration plus cooling and heating. It includes the Source 90 Drink Tube, ICECAP Gen 3, Valve Cap and Cap Tether.

Choose Cooling / Warming Only if you do not need a drink tube. It includes two Closed Caps.

What do I need to mount it?

For body-facing mounting, use IMS Pro Gen 3. If your plate carrier or soft body armor vest does not have loop Velcro® on the body-facing side of its plate bags, CATAMARAN Gen 3 + IMS Pro Gen 3 are required.

For external hydration carry, explore the ICEPLATE® MOLLE Back Panel. For a dedicated wearable system, explore the Backpack, safety vest or Driver Harness options.

How long does cooling or heating last?

Typical ranges are 2–4 hours of cooling and 3–5 hours of heating. Results vary with ambient conditions, exposure, workload and mounting.

The reservoir holds 52.4 fl oz / 1.55 L. How long your drinking water lasts depends on consumption; plan additional water for your activity.

How do I fill and freeze ICEPLATE® Gen 3?

Follow the marked fill line and current freezing instructions, allowing space for water to expand. Freeze until solid before use; allow approximately 6–8 hours, though actual freezing time depends on your freezer and starting water temperature.

Can I drink while the water is frozen?

In the Drinkable configuration, liquid water becomes available as the ice melts. Plan a separate drinking-water supply if you need immediate hydration while ICEPLATE® is fully frozen.

Will it produce condensation?

A cold reservoir can collect condensation in humid conditions. Consider moisture management when choosing its placement and mounting sleeve.

How do I clean and dry it?

Empty, clean, rinse and dry the reservoir and hydration components after use. The two fill ports provide access for draining and cleaning.

Follow the current care instructions for the reservoir, caps, drink tube and bite valve before washing or long-term storage.
