ICEPLATE EXO®-SLK is engineered using the same proprietary laminate found on the eponymous ultralight minimalist plate carrier we build for elite military and law enforcement users. Carrying two ICEPLATE Curves instead of hard armor plates, ICEPLATE EXO®-SLK delivers 140 watts of cooling or 104 watts of heating and 100 fluid ounces of hydration in an ultralight form factor optimized for intense athletic movement, yet comfortable for all day wear around the yard. I work outdoors in the summer here in AZ. I also workout in a hot hiit gym. I purchased this vest mostly to replace my motocross chest protector. I have to say this is by far one of the best things I’ve purchased ever. Work, workout, motocross in 100+ heat is no longer a problem. I highly recommend this vest.

I used the SLK both for work and going hiking. Very good at regulating body temperature specially in humid summer weather. When I do use it for working out, i prefer to use it shirtless, but I find it the carrier its a bit rough on the skin.
Overall, a great buy. too expensive and they also got me on import charges, but nothing you can do about that.

Spoiler. This vest probably saved me from a heat-related injury last year, so I'm a big fan. Now you know how I feel, I'll explain some things I've learned you might find helpful. I purchased my first vest last year. I figured it was a gimmick but we were having an abnormally hot summer and I was desperate, so I gave it a try. Now, I rarely leave for work without it. A couple of things I want to point out. If it's very cold, fill it with hot water and put it on over a light jacket, and then put a coat on over the vest. It helps you stay sharp in those freezing conditions. However, even if it's not very hot, I still take this to work. It allows me to push myself and also stay cool. The more comfortable you are, the better you will perform. If it's very hot and you need to move a lot, it's a lifesaver - pun intended. This company sells a product called IceVest. It's the cheaper version of the ICEPLATE EXO-SLK. You might have even seen these on Chick-Fil-A workers. If your work requires you to move a lot, or you do an extreme sport, spend the extra money and get the ICEPLATE EXO-SLK. It is way better built and will last you much longer. I've beat the hell out of this vest [ICEPLATE EXO-SLK] and other than being dirty it shows no signs of wear. The side straps that ship with this vest [ICEPLATE EXO-SLK] are ok, but they have something called an ICEPLATE EXO Upgrade Kit. It's basically upgraded side straps and a hook and loop/mollie system that fits on the front of the vest. If you can, spend the extra money and get it. You'll find yourself attaching pouches to that mollie piece that fits on the front of the vest, so you get some added utility there. Also in that ICEPLATE EXO Upgrade Kit, you'll notice those side straps are not one solid piece and are elastic, so it breathes and is much more comfortable.
