Senior Industrial Designer is a senior position on the Design & Marketing Team reporting directly to the Design Director. The position also works closely with the CEO, Supply Chain Manager, and the Operations Team (Manufacturing, Customer Experience, etc.) to move products from design into production. The Senior Industrial Designer is in charge of some of the most important company assets: bringing our new product visions to life and getting them production ready. This role is more important than ever as we are a vertically integrated company, meaning we invent, design, engineer, manufacture, brand, market, sell, distribute, and fulfill every product we make, all in-house. We’re looking for someone committed to seeing their work realized everyday in pursuit of supporting our customers across our Military and Safety lines to improve and save lives. Senior Industrial Designer responsibilities:

A. Soft Goods design - ideation sketches, prototyping, Tech Pack creation (Bill of Materials, pattern, assembly instructions, callouts), materials identification and sourcing

B. Hard Goods design - ideation sketches/concepts, 3D modeling (Fusion360), prototyping (printing, clay, etc.)

C. Field and Lab Testing/Validation for all new product concepts, prototypes

Required proficiency:

  • 5-10 years as a professional Industrial Designer
  • Visual Communication Skills (sketching and rendering)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, XD, After Effects, etc.)
  • CAD (Rhino preferred, but not required)
  • 3D printing/additive manufacturing
  • Soft goods construction, prototyping (sewing, cutting, pattern making)

Familiarity strongly preferred:

  • welding (RF, Ultrasonic)
  • woodworking
  • hard goods design
  • tool construction/design
  • blow and injection molding
  • 3D Modeling
  • Backpacking
  • Crossfit, Running, 
  • shooting/firearms experience
  • Military, Law Enforcement, First Responder background/experience

How we will measure success: iterative process with Design , project handoff to Production, ability to internalize and design "on brand" and ability to internalize end-user empathy.

Big advantage if you have a background in any of the following:

Military, Law Enforcement, Firefighter (Urban or Wildland), First Responder/EMT, SAR/CSAR, Backpacking/Hiking, Mountaineering/Climbing, Outdoors, Travel, Food Service, Consumer Electronics, Crossfit, Running/Marathons, Combative's/D-TAC
