Hydration backpacks for military, police, hiking, outdoor, drive-thru, QSR, safety and outdoor with cooling and heating.

    FAQs

Yes! Thanks to the powerful technology found in our ICEPLATE® Curve, our hydration backpacks provide both cooling and heating in addition to hydration.

For cooling, simply fill ICEPLATE® with water and freeze it overnight. Slide  ICEPLATE® into the pouch for conductive cooling as the ice melts and ice-cold water to keep you hydrated.

For heating, simply fill the ICEPLATE® with hot water to keep you warm in cold conditions.

Absolutely! Our hydration backpacks are made to adjust as the name implies – like a backpack. Simply pull down the ladder locks on the shoulder straps to tighten or lift them up to loosen.

To adjust the sternum strap, use the barrel locks on either end to tighten or loosen. To adjust for height, simply undo the shock cord from the sleeve and move it up/down a notch.

Unfortunately, no. Our sternum straps are designed to break away in case of emergencies. Luckily, our replacements are very inexpensive. Shop replacement sternum straps here.

Begin by taking out your ICEPLATE® and disconnecting the drinking tube for individual cleaning in the dishwasher.

To maintain your hydration backpack, simply rinse it off with a hose. If needed, machine wash it ALONE in cold water.

After cleaning, always hang it to dry; avoid using a tumble dryer to preserve the backpack's integrity.

ICEPLATE® is dishwasher safe, which makes keeping it clean simple. Start by removing the cap and placing it in the dishwasher's utensil compartment. Next, lay the ICEPLATE® in the bottom rack, cap side down, and run your regular dishwasher cycle for washing and drying.

If you prefer hand-cleaning, that's also an easy option. Fill a sink with warm, soapy water and immerse the ICEPLATE®, using a soft, non-abrasive sponge to gently clean the exterior. Make sure to thoroughly rinse the bite valve before using it again.

Similarly, the Source90 drinking tube is designed to be dishwasher safe, allowing for easy cleaning alongside your ICEPLATE®. For those who prefer handwashing, the process mirrors that of ICEPLATE®.

Should you notice condensation inside the tube, which isn't uncommon and generally not a concern for daily use, addressing it before long-term storage is recommended. A Platypus Tube Brush can be very effective for cleaning inside the tube.
