We selected these DFNDR Armor Level IIIA stand-alone rifle rated plates specifically for civilian use with our ICEPLATE EXO® ultralight ventilated plate carrier, originally designed for elite military, law enforcement, and freedom-loving citizens. This sku is for existing ICEPLATE EXO® customers who only need to purchase DFNDR Armor Level IIIA Medium Hard Plates. 

To run DFNDR Armor Medium Level IIIA Stand-Alone Plates with your ICEPLATE EXO®, you will also need to purchase these skus:

• 2 x ICEVENTS® VELCRO® brand Acrylic Adhesive Hook Strips [these go on your armor plates first]
• 1 x ICEVENTS® Classic Ventilation Pontoons (2-Pack Ventilated Plate Backer Pads) [sandwich these with the ICEVENTS® Classic (2-Pack) below]
• 1 x ICEVENTS® Classic (2-Pack) [use the included Velcro® OneWrap® to sandwich with the ICEVENTS ® Classic Ventilation Pontoons above via the integrated slits]

The DFNDR Armor® Handgun Rated Level IIIA system is the lightest weight areal density body armor that DFNDR produces. Their level IIIA hard armor plates are designed with a Medium ESAPI-like (thinner) profile to provide an ergonomic and comfortable fitting armor system that is intended to wear against your body all day.

DFNDR Armor® Body Armor is equipped with a state-of-the-art Trauma Mitigation Base to minimize the energy of an impact dramatically. All threats specified are tested at muzzle velocity and are listed in the ‘threat profile’ table below which describes the rated ammunition this armor system will defeat.

The DFNDR Armor® Level IIIA system is engineered with the highest grade of ballistic materials; an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber, bound with a resin matrix to make it a hard stand-alone armor system and equipped with Spall-Tek to further reduce deflection of projectile fragments. 

The DFNDR Armor® Level IIIA system is independently tested to the NIJ 0101.04 protocol at NIJ Certified Ballistic Labs.
