**Note on Fit: Due to IceVents® Classic unique omnidirectional ventilation architecture, IceVents® Classic plate carrier shoulder pads are designed to be worn with Combat Shirts and other Duty-type Uniforms. Some users might be able to wear IceVents® Classic plate carrier shoulder pads with a t-shirt or other non-collared shirt depending on exact body type and setup preferences. We created IceVents® Aero contoured plate carrier shoulder pads for use with t-shirts and other low-collar uniform tops and minimalist plate carriers. ***IMPORTANT NOTE on Pontoons: While the adhesive is sufficient for mild applications, like a day at the range, for more strenuous applications like infantry live fires, o-courses, and amphibious operations (OTB, MIO, VBSS) we strongly recommend having your uniform tailor or shoe cobbler professionally sew the Velcro loop strips to the inside of your plate carrier or soft armor vest. IceVents® Classic Pontoons provide padding and ventilation inside your plate carrier or soft armor on your chest and back, promoting evaporative cooling and eliminating hotspots. Say goodbye to heavy, bulky, and crude legacy ventilation made from foam and switch to wafer-thin, ultra light, conductive IceVents®. IceVents® connect directly to the inside of all all body armor equipped with body-facing loop fields/pontoons. If your carrier is not equipped with internal pontoons, we provide adhesive hook and loop pontoon strips to adhere/sew onto any plate carrier, chest rig or soft armor vest. While the adhesive is sufficient for most applications, we recommend having your uniform tailor or shoe cobbler professionally sew the loop pontoon strips for strenuous applications.

Purchased the six pack. The shoulder pads were excellent. Kept me cool. Kept me comfortable. Easy to install. The classic ice vents worked well, I just had problems with the adhesive strips staying in place. I had read the reviews going in and expected it to happen.
Thank you for taking the time to share an honest account of your experience with your IceVents 6-Pack. We were a bit perplexed in reading your review until we realized that we did not include the same notes on the adhesive application on the 6-pack pages that we feature on the IceVents Classic Ventilation Pontoon page. It reads as follows:
'***IMPORTANT NOTE: While the adhesive is sufficient for mild applications, like a day at the range, for more strenuous applications like infantry live fires, o-courses, and amphibious operations (OTB, MIO, VBSS) we strongly recommend having your uniform tailor or shoe cobbler professionally sew the Velcro loop strips to the inside of your plate carrier or soft armor vest. We have since updated the two 6-Pack pages with the same info and hyperlinks in an effort to make this information easier to find. Thank you for helping us diagnose this issue and we apologize if it created any inconvenience! #StayFrosty
Excellent product. Safe to assume they would survive a meat grinder and still provide comfort
I got a set of 6 to outfit my JPC for use in a very hot and humid environment. As others have stated, the sticky velcro has some limitations, especially when the heat melts the adhesive and dirt clogs it up. I work with other gear that uses the sticky velcro and decided to sew in the velcro. The loop side to my JPC, and the hook side into the pad itself. Its not the prettiest job, but it is far more secure and I look forward to testing it out. I would like to see either a pre sewn pad, or one with grooves in the material for those of us who will sew it.

Hi J - thanks for taking the time to share an honest account of your experience. We really appreciate it! We thought it might be helpful to call attention to the information about sewing on the IceVents Stand-Off Ventilation Pontoon product page here:
https://www.qoreperformance.com/collections/icevents/products/icevents-plate-carrier-padding-for-stand-off-ventilation-2-pack

While home sewing can be done, we recommend using your uniform tailor to sew the loop fields to your carrier as specified on the product page above. Hope this is helpful and please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. Mounting options was one of the intentions behind the internal laser-cut MAPs and loop we have on our IcePlate EXO for accessories like IceVents. #StayFrosty

The IceVent are quit nice and they do what they are advertised to do. I could see these being expanded upon and I can't wait to see what else is done with them. I'd like to see a better system for shoulder straps and such.
I recently used my IceVents on my plate carrier during an intensive training over several weeks. The vents were easy to apply and felt comfortable to wear at first. After about a week of arduous wear I felt almost no difference in cooling or comfort despite being in one of the hottest parts of the country. A couple days after that, the adhesive material holding the velcro to the plate carrier started to peel and get dirt in it and eventually fell off. Overall I feel that I wasted hundreds of dollars on the product.
We're so sorry to hear that IceVents didn’t work for you and we want to make sure we make this right for you. We never want a customer to feel like they have wasted their money with us.
We'd like to offer you two options to make this right for you:
The IceVents Plate Carrier and Body Armor Ventilation (2-Pack) product page recommends sewing the Loop Pontoon strips to the plate carrier for strenuous applications. The adhesive is only supposed to be used to make the sewing process easier. However, I recognize that our IceVents 6-Pack Bundle page didn’t say this explicitly at the time you made your purchase (it has since been updated), so a little confusion here is understandable and totally our fault. As such, if you feel like IceVents are otherwise valuable for you and the adhesive confusion is the only point of contention, we’d like to offer to send you $50 to cover the cost of having your uniform tailor sew the adhesive-backed Loop Pontoon Strips to your PC.
If you feel that IceVents are just not right for you, we’d like to offer to have you return them to us for a full refund. Even if you are no longer our customer, we want your last experience with us to be a great one. We never want a customer to feel slighted in anyway. We work extremely hard at trying to make sure every customer feels like they are treated with honor and integrity while receiving exceptional value when interfacing with us.
Please let us know which of these options sounds most appealing to you and we’ll make it happen right away!
