Whether worn on the front or back, the ICEPLATE® performs efficiently. If you're unsure about the best position, we recommend wearing it on your back for the first use.
For more detailed guidance, refer to our IceAge Insights blog post: How do I wear ICEPLATE®?
Soft Body Armor: Given the wide variety of Soft Armor formats available, our Velcro Armor Straps are recommended for use with soft armor to allow for the best possible ride height adjustment.
Hard Armor/Plate Carrier: The ICEPLATE® can be attached to a plate carrier using Zipties, folded 100 mph tape, 550 cord, spare boot laces, or just about anything you might have on hand in the field. Many customers manage to accommodate the ICEPLATE® inside their plate bag with their armor plate, depending on the armor/plate carrier combo.
However, an IMS is absolutely the best solution for any plate carrier.
External Armor Carry: IMS, designed for military and law enforcement use, offers a highly durable, low-profile, hard cell hydration solution for external applications.
Industrial/Commercial: Our ICEVEST® HiVis Cooling/Heating/Hydration Safety Vest offers an all-in-one industrial safety solution, featuring cooling, heating, high visibility, and improved productivity. It uses two ICEPLATEs® (front and back) in one ICEPLATE carrier.
Travel/EDC: The ICEPLATE® fits seamlessly into the laptop or hydration compartments of most leading backpacks, like the Vertx Gamut EDC and Vertx EDC Transit Sling. It is also a must-have water bottle for carry-on travel.
